St. James Nursing Center is currently hiring for the following positions:

Registered Nurse

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, render nursing care to residents; observe and report symptoms and conditions; take and accurately record temperature, respiration, pulse, and blood pressure; prepare and administer medications and record reactions, maintain records reflecting the residents’ conditions. Follow the assessed plan of care for resident.

The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policy and procedures.

Licensed Practical Nurse

 Under the supervision of a professional nurse (RN), render nursing care to residents; observe and report symptoms and conditions; take and accurately record temperature, respiration, pulse, and blood pressure; assist in administering of medications and record reactions, maintain records reflecting the residents’ conditions. Follow the assessed plan of care for resident.

Certified Nursing Asst.

Assist professional nursing staff by performing duties in caring for residents at facility. Work under the supervision of professional nursing staff. Duties include but are not limited to: transport, bathe and dress residents, comb hair, clean teeth and nails, provide assistance with toileting, make beds, assist in feeding, following executed resident care plan and provide safety, comfort, and well-being for resident.

Laundry Aide

• Laundry Workers perform a variety of tasks on varying shifts, including collecting and sorting soiled linen, loading and unloading machines, and folding clean linen.
• Operates computer-operated washers and dryers.
• Responsibilities include counting and recording the linen processed each day, making proper deliveries to units and, cleaning and sanitizing the work area including; machines, work tables and sorting area.
• Performs laundry activities within well established guidelines to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
• Delivers personal clothing to the appropriate resident.
• The overwhelming majority of the laundry worker’s job is performed while standing, walking and bending.

Patient Sitter

Under the supervision of an RN, provides close observation of patients. Assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Promotes the therapeutic milieu and the efficiency of the nursing team. Provides assistance with activities of daily living, unless the patient needs are such that adverse health consequences are predictable. Supports System and Nursing Strategic Plans, Relationship-Based Care, and Shared Leadership.

 

Dietary Porter

Adheres to safe food handling procedures. Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in work areas which includes equipment. Transports equipment, meals and supplies to various destinations according to requests.

The purpose of this position is to implement the established procedures for sanitizing eating utensils, clean and maintain work area, operate and maintain equipment in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Experience is required. Operate heavy floor machines.
